How Much Should a Small Business Website Actually Cost?

A five-page brochure site with your copy and images ready can be reasonably quick. The same five pages with a booking system, custom animations, and content that still needs to be written is a different project entirely, even though the page count didn't change.
If you're collecting quotes, the most useful question to ask isn't 'how much for a website' — it's 'here's exactly what it needs to do, what would that cost.' You'll get far more comparable numbers back.
